Broken Bow Savages Track Team – Presented by McCurtain Memorial Hospital

Hard work and experience will be the keys to success for the Broken Bow boys track team this season. Head coach Duce Lee believes his athletes have the potential to compete at a high level in Class 4A, thanks to returning state placers and others who have been tested on the big stage. “I think our young men have a great chance to be a solid team this year in Class 4A,” Lee said. “We have some state placers back from last year and several others with state experience.”

Leading the charge is sophomore Greydon Howell, a two-event state placer as a freshman and the team’s MVP. His talent, leadership, and dedication set him apart, and Lee sees big things ahead. “Greydon has the potential to be one of the best male track athletes to come from Broken Bow,” Lee said. “He’s a great team leader, makes everyone around him better, and leads by example in practice and in competition.”

One of the rising athletes to watch this season is junior Isaiah Fields. A sprinter and middle-distance runner, Fields gained valuable state competition experience as a sophomore and is poised for a breakout year. “Isaiah is a quiet athlete with a great work ethic and leads by example,” Lee said. “He came a long way his sophomore year, and we expect great things from him this year.”

Senior thrower Kyler Cupit is the team’s unsung hero. After joining the track team as a junior, he quickly bought into the training and competition mindset necessary to excel at shot put and discus. “Kyler, through hard work and lots of practice, has bought into what it takes to contend for placing at the regional and state level,” Lee said. “I am looking forward to seeing the progress he has made from last year and how it pays off for him this year.”

Middle-distance runner and vaulter Cole Patrick balances his track commitments with FFA, where he’s a proud member of the skeet shooting team. His versatility showcases the dedication and work ethic that define the Broken Bow track program. With a strong mix of experienced leaders and developing talent, the team is ready to make an impact this season.
