Record: 21-8

OUTLOOK

After a 21-win season and a trip to the Class 4A Area Tournament, the Broken Bow Savages enter the 2025-26 campaign with sky-high expectations under veteran head coach Ryan Woolsey, now in his 13th year at the helm. The Savages return every player from last year’s roster and are poised to make a deep postseason push.

“We return everyone from a 20-win 4A area tournament team last year,” said Woolsey. “Expectations are very high as we look to hopefully take that next step into the playoffs.”

Leading the way is junior standout Greydon Howell (5-11, Jr.), a dynamic guard who surpassed the 1,000-point milestone halfway through his sophomore season. “Greydon Howell looks to be a four-sport All-Stater by the time he’s done,” Woolsey said. “He’s an absolute phenom — one of the best athletes in Oklahoma, regardless of sport.”

Surrounding Howell is a strong supporting cast of returning contributors, including sophomore guards Collin Axton (6-2, So.) and DeJhuan Hall (6-1, So.), along with junior Crew Pratt (6-1, Jr.) — all of whom saw extensive minutes last season. “Collin and DeJhuan both played huge roles for us as freshmen,” said Woolsey. “They’ve all shown massive signs of improvement over the summer.”

Senior leaders Jaxson McDaniel (6-0, Sr.) and Sky Baker (6-2, Sr.) bring experience and outside shooting to the lineup. “Our sharp shooters Jaxson and Sky return as players with the most experience and are looking for big senior campaigns,” Woolsey said.

Inside, AJ Brannon (6-2, Sr.) anchors the paint once again. “AJ has held down the inside for two seasons. He plays a lot bigger than he is and has really improved his back-to-the-basket game,” said Woolsey. Supporting him is Rylan Hanks (6-6, Jr.), a lengthy forward who added three inches to his frame over the summer. “Rylan’s growth makes him a major contributor this winter,” Woolsey said.

The Savages’ depth runs deep, with key role players Adrian Hightower (6-2, So.), Talan Tomlinson (5-8, Jr.), Kalel Flagg (6-3, So.), and Blake Skelton (6-0, So.), all pushing for minutes.
