BROKEN BOW SAVAGES
Coach: MAVERICK LANG
11-2
Broken Bow is loaded with experience and momentum after capturing its first district title in 15 years and reaching the semifinals. Lang says they are “excited about the amount of experience” returning and notes that last year’s success has “raised the standard” for the program, with the Savages eager “to build on that.” With nine offensive and five defensive starters back, expectations are high for another deep run.
The Savage offense is one of the state’s most explosive, built on a multiple formation, heavy-motion scheme that starts with a physical ground game. Lang explains they “run a multiple formation and motion offense” that wants to “first and foremost establish a physical run game,” then create ways to get athletes the ball in space so defenses must defend “vertically” and all “53.3 yards wide.” Senior QB Greydon Howell returns after 2,817 passing yards and 27 TDs plus 1,514 rushing yards and 20 TDs, joined by senior RB Jattairrius Neal (1,563 rushing yards, 19 TDs; 530 receiving yards, 9 TDs) and standout receivers DeJhaun Hall (1,036 yards, 7 TDs) and Kalel Flagg (484 yards, 2 TDs) behind a big line anchored by junior RT Aden Hammonds (6-3, 295).

Defensively, Broken Bow bases out of a 4 2 5 but will slide into odd fronts to maximize an athletic unit. Lang says they “base out of the 4-2-5” and will “at times get into an odd front,” using their athletes to “get creative in how we blitz and mix up the coverages,” all while playing a “really physical brand of defense” with stopping the run as the top priority. Senior MLB Kade Pratt (165 total tackles, 35 TFL, 2 INTs) is a centerpiece, joined by senior DE Kyng Golston (6-4, 253), linebackers Bryan Clay and Brayden Williams, junior CB Jerrimiah Scales and sophomore safety Stauter Brown.
