Wright City’s Kase Lindly – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by Pine Cellular

In the middle of Wright City High School’s basketball arena, Kase Lindly isn’t just a player; he’s a testament to the impact of mentors, the camaraderie of teammates and the valuable lessons woven into the fabric of the game.

Reflecting on his journey, Kase points to both of his high school coaches, Kyle Butler in baseball and Joel Dickerson in basketball, as pivotal figures: “Both coaches have pushed and encouraged me to be a better teammate and player.”

Teammates often become pillars of support, and for Kase, it’s a familial connection: “My older brother, Kellan Lindly. He was a good teammate and leader; someone I looked up to.”

Beyond the court, the classroom holds its own influencers. Mr. Johnny Crabtree, Kase’s U.S. History teacher, stands out. “His class is always fun, which makes learning enjoyable,” Kase said.

The off-season is the crucible where athletes forge their skills. Kase’s preparations include a multifaceted approach: “I worked out this summer to try and get faster and stronger. I spent a lot of time in the gym shooting and working on ball handling.”

Basketball’s lessons extend beyond the court, becoming guiding principles for daily life: “To always work hard and to never give up.”

Amidst the memories, one stands out vividly for Kase: “My freshman year, we beat Calvin on a shot at the buzzer in double overtime.”

As the new season beckons, Kase sets ambitious goals: “I hope we can win our conference, make it to the state tournament, and hopefully win it if we get there.” Among the anticipated matchups, Caddo holds a special place for Kase: “They are the defending state champions, and I’m looking forward to the challenge.”

Peering beyond the high school horizon, Kase envisions a continuation of his academic journey: “I plan to attend college after high school.”

As Kase Lindly steps onto the court, each dribble and shot resonates with the echoes of mentorship, the bonds of brotherhood and the enduring spirit of a player reaching for new heights.
