WRIGHT CITY LADY JAX

GIRLS

Coach: Misty Haley

22-23 Record: 21-6

The Wright City Lady Jax basketball team is primed for the 2023-24 season. With a remarkable 2022 record of 21-6, the Lady Jax are determined to build on their success. Head coach Misty Haley leads the charge, and the team is eager to capitalize on the solid foundation from the previous season: “We return all but one starter off of last year’s team, as well as some solid play coming off the bench,” Haley said. “We’re looking to improve off of last season and advance deep into the playoffs.” The expectations are sky-high.

Madison Carter (5-8, Sr.) is a dominant force on the court, averaging an impressive 19 points per game, 8.0 rebounds and 4.0 steals. Her exceptional court vision and the ability to score from both inside and beyond the arc make her an outstanding player. Carter’s dedication to her game and leadership skills have been instrumental in her team’s success. As a freshman, Grace Vance (6-0, So.) made a significant impact, and the team is eagerly looking forward to her continued development in her sophomore year. She has worked hard on improving her inside game and mid-range jumper, making her an asset in the post. Shalan Haley (5-2, Sr.) is often tasked with guarding the opposing team’s best player. Her dedication to improving her game and her perimeter shooting skills are commendable. Ali Gibson’s (5-9, Sr.) positive attitude and her willingness to do whatever it takes for her team’s success have made her an integral part of the Lady Jax’s achievements over the past three years. The Wright City Lady Jax basketball team is committed to pushing the boundaries in the 2023-24 season. With a roster full of talent and led by outstanding athletes, they aim to take their program to new heights in girls’ high school basketball. Keep an eye on this team as they chase excellence on the court.
