Q&A with Idabel’s Ravian Larry – Presented By Mandy Knowles, Shelter Insurance

Idabel junior running back Ravian Larry rushed for 1,100 yards as a sophomore, helping the Warriors to a 9-4 record. His goal is to lead Idabel to its first state title before he graduates. He spends his free time watching old Mike Alstott and Eric Dickerson film.

VYPE: After erupting for over 1,000 yards last year, what type of numbers are you hoping to put up this year?

Ravian Larry: 1,500 or more, nothing less!

VYPE: Building off a big year last season, what will it take for Idabel to get over the hump and compete for a state title this year?

RL: Hard work! We gotta wanna be there and not just show up to look good or make a few good highlight plays or anything like that. We gotta be dedicated and determined.

VYPE: What have you been doing this off-season to make it happen?

RL: Been going to the field a lot working my agility, in the weight room getting stronger, and training my mind for when it gets hard.

VYPE: Why is this community special? What do you enjoy about representing them on Friday nights?

RL: The community is amazing, love them. I’ll have to say it promotes good behavior for a better society.

VYPE: Which teammate, past or present, has left the greatest impact on you?

RL: Caden Coursey (Idabel All-State football ‘23), by far! One of the greatest and nicest people I know. Love him, hope he does great things in life. Not only him, all my teammates.
