Broken Bow’s Mylee Williams – Athlete Spotlight – Presented by McCurtain Memorial Hospital

Broken Bow’s Mylee Williams

Broken Bow senior Mylee Williams has spent her high school years balancing competition, leadership and service. Through athletics, she has learned lessons that extend far beyond the field, track and sidelines.

Williams is a three-sport athlete at Broken Bow High School, competing in varsity softball, track and cheer. As she reflects on her athletic journey, one accomplishment stands above the rest.

“My proudest accomplishment is qualifying for the state fastpitch tournament my sophomore year,” Williams said.

Growing up in sports has taught Williams many lessons, but one message continues to guide her through challenges.

“The biggest lesson I’ve learned is how to do hard things,” she said. “I’ve learned how to work with people when we don’t always see eye to eye, how to push myself, how to fight for something and how to work hard for something I want.”

That mindset is reflected in her favorite piece of advice: “Get comfortable being uncomfortable.”

“Everything you do in life will be uncomfortable at some point, so get used to it,” she said.

Away from athletics, Williams is equally committed to serving her community. She is active in Student Council and the Junior Chamber of Commerce, participating in service projects throughout the year.

“We do numerous service projects through the year to help our community,” Williams said.

Her love for Broken Bow is rooted in the support she sees from residents.

“My favorite thing about living in Broken Bow is the community,” Williams said. “Every game our stands are full no matter the sport. It’s also such a beautiful town with so many scenic spots.”

As she prepares for her final year of high school, Williams remains grateful for the family members who have supported her every step of the way.

“I would like to thank my parents and my sister,” Williams said. “They have supported me through everything I put my mind to, and without their support and guidance, I wouldn’t be half the person I am now.”

With her dedication to athletics, service and leadership, Williams has developed qualities that will benefit her well beyond her days at Broken Bow High School.
