Broken Bow’s Kyng Golston
Kyng Golston understands how quickly opportunities can come and go, which is why he refuses to take any of them for granted.
As he prepares for his senior season at Broken Bow High School, Golston is already proud of one milestone that stands above the rest: earning the chance to play football at the next level. That opportunity reflects years of hard work, sacrifice and perseverance, along with the support of people who have stood beside him through every challenge.
Football has become more than a sport for Golston. It has helped shape his character and taught him lessons that extend far beyond Friday nights.
“Always be humble and don’t take nothing for granted,” Golston said.
That lesson continues to guide him as he works toward bigger goals while staying grounded in the present.
Another piece of advice has helped him stay focused on the right path.
“Don’t follow the wrong crowd and keep your head on straight. Don’t listen to the haters,” he said.
Golston said that mindset has helped him remain disciplined and avoid distractions, even when outside voices try to pull his attention elsewhere.
The people closest to him have also played a major role in his growth. Golston said Bre Hardemon made a meaningful impact on his education, while his brother and teammate, Kenny Golston, has left one of the biggest impressions on him through his example and support.
He also values the peaceful nature of Broken Bow. For Golston, the quiet simplicity of his hometown provides a sense of calm and stability away from the demands of competition.
More than anyone, Golston says his mother deserves the most credit for helping him reach this point.
“She been through it all, helped me in tough times and was always by my side,” Golston said.
Her steady support has given him strength during difficult moments and motivation to keep pushing forward.
As Golston enters his final season at Broken Bow, he carries more than athletic ability onto the field. He carries humility, gratitude and the lessons of those who helped shape him, all while preparing for the next chapter of his journey.
