It takes countless late nights, long practices, and unshakable dedication to build a winning cheer program. Broken Bow senior Karis Caudle has seen the proof of that hard work firsthand. “So far, the biggest improvement that the team has had this year is winning the best team overall this summer at UCA cheer camp at OU. Everyone worked the hardest for this accomplishment. We had the best overall cheer, and we were second in our stunt routine. All of the girls that were able to try out for All-American made it! Another huge accomplishment was from me and the three other senior captains on the team. We were invited to try out for the UCA cheer staff. This was a major accomplishment for us as only nine people from the entire cheer camp were asked!” she shared.
That level of commitment is the standard for Caudle and her teammates. “Our team this year is amazing. Everyone is very hard driven, determined, and overall dedicated! We have already made many accomplishments this season.”
For Caudle, the big picture is always in focus. “The team’s main goal this year is winning the Game Day state competition. All of the girls and guys have put in countless hours already preparing for the competition. We practice several nights a week for many hours. Many girls go to private tumbling classes also.”
Even with the long hours, she credits one thing for setting them apart. “The team’s biggest strength at the moment is definitely our dedication, and our determination. This keeps us all well driven as we all have the same goal!”
As a senior captain, Caudle knows her influence matters both on and off the mat. “I always try my hardest to be a good role model and friend to all the younger girls on our team.”
Personally, she has set her sights high. “My personal goals heading into this upcoming cheer season are making top five at state cheer competition or possibly winning, being the best role model I can be for the younger girls and always performing and stunting my absolute best!”
