Broken Bow’s Kennedee Britain – Softball Spotlight – Presented by James Hodge Dodge of Broken Bow

Kennedee Brittain’s love for softball started early, but it wasn’t until middle school that she discovered her passion for slow-pitch. “When I got into middle school, my friends were talking about slow-pitch softball and how fun it was,” Kennedee said. “I decided to give it a try and have loved it ever since.” Now a senior at Broken Bow High School, Kennedee is a leader on and off the field, driven by her deep connection to the game.

Her inspiration comes from close to home. “I have always loved softball, and the love I have for the game is what inspires me,” she said. “My biggest influence is my family.”

Kennedee takes pride in her role on the team as an encourager. “I would say my main role on the team is to help pick my teammates up and help encourage them when they are down,” she said. “I do my best to prepare for this by having a positive attitude and staying rooted in my faith.”

Her goals for the season are ambitious but attainable. “My goal for this season is to make it to the state tournament and hit a bunch of home runs,” Kennedee said. “A hope for this season is to win the state tournament.”

One of her proudest moments came during slow-pitch regionals last season. “Slow-pitch regionals last season was my most memorable moment because we beat Tecumseh, who we had previously lost to in fast-pitch regionals,” Kennedeerecalled.

Kennedee’s future plans include continuing her athletic journey. “After high school, I will be continuing my track career at Ouachita Baptist and pursuing a degree in speech pathology,” she said.

Reflecting on her journey, Kennedee is grateful for the people who’ve supported her. “I would like to thank God for all the wonderful opportunities and accomplishments that I have achieved,” she said. “Next, I would like to thank my family for all their constant support and for being at every event.”

For Kennedee Brittain, the game is about more than wins and losses—it’s about the love for the sport, the bonds with her team, and the joy of chasing dreams.
